Prevention/ Community Education Program

Focus
This program provides a wide array of services to the community, schools, businesses and other agencies.
  

The primary objectives are to raise awareness about alcohol and other drug abuse, to teach important life skills, to mobilize communities for change and to promote healthy activities for families and youth.
Program Benefits – are designed to provide the most current information on wellness and substance abuse prevention issues to all segments of the community.  The services offered are meant to assist youth and families in attaining and sustaining healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

Program Elements
*  Raise awareness regarding the abuse of   
   alcohol and other drugs
*  Presentations to community, workplace and 
   schools on all aspects of prevention
*  Consultation to schools, youth groups and 
    community task force

*  Development of curriculum
*  Training in parenting skills and parent networking
*  Collaboration with other agencies to develop 
   social policy
*  Organize youth-focused prevention groups like “Snowball” and "Snowflake”
